Ukrainian President Urges US and China to Mediate Peace Talks with Russia

In a significant call for global collaboration, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed that the United States and China act as mediators in negotiations with Russia to help resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Zelensky expressed his belief that the joint influence of these two major powers could facilitate a fair resolution to the crisis.

«I consider America and China, and I envision them working together. I recognize that they have their own considerable challenges with each other. I understand that. However, I am convinced that if we desire a just end to this war for Ukraine and the world, they need to find common ground and collectively apply pressure on Putin. Each can act in their own capacity, but together they can be much more effective,» Zelensky stated.

The President highlighted that without such coordinated efforts, Russia might continue to advance its agenda, taking advantage of the global divisions on this issue. «Putin is actively working to exploit these divisions, and his team is focused on this strategy. Thus, I believe the most powerful tool we have is the united pressure from the US and China,» he emphasized.

Zelensky’s remarks underscore the urgency of international cooperation in addressing the escalating tensions in Eastern Europe. As the conflict persists, the call for a united diplomatic front from the US and China reflects a growing recognition that a multifaceted approach may be essential for achieving peace and stability in the region.
