Robbery Incident in Zaporizhzhia Highlights Growing Concerns Over Safety

In Zaporizhzhia, two young men attacked a food delivery courier during a routine delivery service. The incident occurred while the courier was fulfilling an order from a local restaurant, after which the assailants fled with the stolen food.

The attack was reported to the police by the restaurant’s administrator. Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered that one of the assailants had used pepper spray on the courier, while the other snatched the food bag.

Utilizing a service dog, the police were able to locate the whereabouts of the suspects. They were identified as residents of Zaporizhzhia, aged 20 and 19. Both individuals were apprehended under part 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigators have informed them of their suspicions in relation to the crime under part 4 of article 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Currently, authorities are determining the appropriate preventive measures. If convicted, the suspects could face a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
