Ukrainian Defense Official Warns of Penalties for Unregistered Military Service Members

In a recent interview with the «Army TV» YouTube channel, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization, Kateryna Chernohorenko, issued a critical warning to military reservists who have failed to update their personal information. She stressed that neglecting to modernize their records could lead to significant penalties.

Chernohorenko revealed that personnel from Territorial Recruitment Centers are authorized to conduct document checks in public spaces. During these checks, reservists may be required to present their military registration documents. Leveraging advanced technological tools from leading registries, such as the «Oberih» system, officials can swiftly verify an individual’s details using QR codes.

Furthermore, she emphasized that if service members do not update their information within a specified timeframe following the enactment of mobilization laws, the Territorial Recruitment Centers have the authority to involve law enforcement for enforcement actions. Automatic fines for discrepancies will be imposed if sufficient information exists in other government registries for validation.

The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining accurate military records and ensuring that all individuals subject to mobilization are properly registered. With these measures, Ukrainian authorities aim to streamline the mobilization process and enhance national defense readiness.
