Ukraine Seeks Strong NATO Support Ahead of Key Summit

Ukraine is intensifying its efforts to secure a significant decision regarding its NATO membership at the upcoming alliance summit in Washington, D.C. Igor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, emphasized the country’s desire for robust support from NATO member states, reflecting the nation’s commitment to its military collaboration with the alliance.

«Ukraine deserves strong backing from NATO. Our country is actively engaged in military cooperation, including training with Patriot missile systems,» Zhovkva stated, highlighting Ukraine’s proactive stance in enhancing its defense capabilities.

During a recent visit to a military base in Germany, Ukrainian soldiers showcased their proficiency with the Patriot air defense systems, demonstrating their growing capabilities and readiness in the field.

«We are aiming for the strongest possible decision at the NATO summit. We are closely monitoring the discussions and eagerly anticipating constructive outcomes,» Zhovkva added, signaling Ukraine’s expectations for meaningful support.

The NATO summit in Washington is expected to announce new military assistance for Ukraine, alongside coordination of support through the «Ramstein format.» As the summit approaches, Ukraine remains focused on securing substantial backing to further bolster its military capabilities and deepen cooperation with NATO.
