Russian Armed Forces Launch Combined Attacks in Southern Ukraine

Late at night, the Russian military initiated a series of combined attacks on southern Ukraine, significantly impacting regions such as Odesa and Kherson. The offensive primarily focused on critical infrastructure and residential areas, with missiles targeting key sites. Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa regional military administration, reported that strategic facilities in the area were struck by what he described as Russian terrorist forces. Fortunately, there were no reported civilian casualties.

In response to the attacks, the Odesa regional prosecutor’s office announced the launch of a criminal investigation into violations of the laws and customs of war, under Article 438 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code. The investigation is currently being carried out by the prosecutor’s office of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district.

Simultaneously, Russian forces targeted residential neighborhoods in Kherson. According to the National Police, a fire broke out on the roof of an apartment building as a result of the attacks. Rescuers managed to locate an injured individual, who was subsequently handed over to medical personnel. Firefighters faced multiple challenges in extinguishing the blaze due to ongoing shelling.

Alexander Prokudin, head of the Kherson regional military administration, reported that Russian troops shelled the Dnipro district of Kherson using heavy firepower. The shelling caused damage to both private homes and apartment complexes, highlighting the escalating violence in the region as civilians continue to bear the brunt of the conflict.

Authorities emphasize the urgency of the situation, pledging to take all necessary measures to protect civilians and restore order amid continuous threats. The ongoing military actions underscore the precarious security landscape in southern Ukraine, prompting responses from both local governments and national law enforcement agencies.
