Kyiv City Council Secures International Grant for Heating System Modernization
The Kyiv City Council is set to receive an international grant aimed at enhancing the heating system in a residential area located on Knyazev Koriatovich Street.
Under the grant agreement, the investment will come from the «Sweden-Ukraine: Support for Centralized Heating» fund, managed by NEFCO, E5P, and Sida, and directed toward the municipal enterprise Vinnytsia City Heat Energy. Mayor Serhii Morgunov highlighted that this initiative will significantly improve energy efficiency and the quality of heating services for local residents.
The project focuses on modernizing the centralized heating system in the area bordered by Pyrohova, Matrosa Kishki, Knyazev Koriatovich, and Mariia Lytvynenko-Volgamut Streets. Construction work is scheduled to commence next year, during which 97 individual heating substations will be installed to minimize heat loss and consumption.
This initiative marks a continuation of Vinnytsia’s successful collaboration with international funds, following a similar project in the Kyivska and Ostap Vyshni Streets area. With support from NEFCO and the Swiss Agency, over 300 individual heating substations were installed there, demonstrating the effectiveness of such partnerships in improving urban infrastructure and energy efficiency.
As the city embarks on this modernization journey, residents can look forward to improved heating services that contribute to a more sustainable and energy-efficient environment.
