Successful Rescue of Horses from Kupiansk
The organization «Rescue Animals Kharkiv» has successfully evacuated two horses, Lastochka and Schastlivchik, from the war-torn city of Kupiansk. The urgent request for assistance came from the animals’ owner amid intense shelling that posed a grave threat to their lives.
The evacuation process proved to be quite challenging, particularly for the horse Schastlivchik, who was not acclimated to transportation. To facilitate the safe rescue of Schastlivchik, professional equestrian Anastasia, who specializes in showjumping, was enlisted for her expertise.
While Lastochka was loaded onto the transport relatively quickly, the evacuation of Schastlivchik took four hours of persistent effort. Despite some resistance and moments of anxiety, Schastlivchik was ultimately convinced to cooperate and make the journey to safety.
Currently, Schastlivchik has been placed with a new family in a secure environment, while Lastochka, along with four goats, was transported to a familiar owner in Kharkiv. This successful operation highlights the dedication and skill of animal rescue organizations in perilous situations, ensuring the well-being of vulnerable animals even amidst conflict.
