Apple has officially announced the launch of its highly anticipated Vision Pro augmented reality glasses. Pre-orders will begin in the United States on January 19, with full sales set to commence on February 2. Contrary to earlier speculation, the tech giant has confirmed that it will not postpone the release date.
The cost of the new device stands at $3,499 for the version with 256 gigabytes of storage, with additional configurations featuring larger memory capacities also being offered, as detailed in the company’s press release.
In addition to the Vision Pro glasses themselves, Apple will provide Zeiss optical lenses priced at $99. For individuals with vision impairments, corrective lenses will be available for $149.
The complete package includes interchangeable straps for personalized fitting, special sealing cushions, a protective case, a branded microfiber cleaning cloth, a battery, a cable, and a USB-C power adapter.
Apple describes the Vision Pro as a «revolutionary spatial computer that changes everything.» The development of the device has spanned over seven years, making it the first product not to be directly overseen by Steve Jobs.
The Vision Pro glasses are designed for various uses, including movie watching, communication, work, and gaming. According to the company, upon launch, users will have access to «hundreds» of games to choose from.
As Apple embarks on this latest venture, it aims to redefine the technological landscape by integrating augmented reality into everyday life, inviting consumers to experience a new level of immersive interaction. Industry experts are closely watching how this innovative device will influence both the tech market and consumer habits in the coming months.
