Ukrainian President Addresses Longevity of Conflict in Press Interview
In a recent interview with the YouTube channel «BBC News Ukraine,» President Volodymyr Zelensky voiced his concerns regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, emphasizing that no one would agree to a war that drags on for years. Such prolonged conflicts not only result in significant casualties but also pose challenges for the entire world, he stated.
When asked whether he could remain in power if the situation were to extend for another decade, Zelensky firmly rejected the possibility, calling it unrealistic and stressing that steps must be taken to prevent it. He highlighted the urgent need to explore viable paths toward a resolution and mitigate further losses.
Zelensky expressed his willingness to hold elections if circumstances allow; however, he acknowledged that in the event of a prolonged war, alternative solutions must be considered to address the ongoing situation effectively.
As the conflict continues to impact millions, Zelensky’s remarks underline the pressing necessity for diplomatic efforts and resolution strategies to pave the way for peace in Ukraine and beyond.
