Ukrainian President Seeks US and China as Mediators in Talks with Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently suggested the involvement of the United States and China as mediators in negotiations with Russia to help bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine. In an interview with Bloomberg, Zelensky expressed his belief that joint pressure from these global powers could help achieve a fair resolution for Ukraine.
«I think about America, about China. I think about them together. I know they have their own big issues between each other. I understand that. But I believe that if we want this war to end fairly for Ukraine and for the whole world, they need to find common positions to put pressure on Putin together. Each in their own way, but together,» Zelensky stated.
Zelensky highlighted that without such joint efforts, Russia may continue to pursue its own agenda, taking advantage of the world’s division on the issue. «Putin is working on this and his team is actively working on this. That’s why I believe that the strongest tool will be joint pressure from the US and China,» emphasized Zelensky.
