Knife Attack in Chinadievo: Woman Hospitalized

On June 3, around 9 am, doctors at the Mukachevo district hospital informed the police about the hospitalization of a 40-year-old resident of Chinadievo with a knife wound.

Police have started investigating the incident. It was established that the woman’s 47-year-old cohabitant, originally from the Chernivtsi region, was involved in the injury.

According to the investigation, the conflict between them arose due to unfriendly relations. During an argument, the man grabbed a knife and struck the woman in the stomach. The weapon of the crime was found in the yard near the scene.

The suspect was found at the train station in Mukachevo, where he was trying to leave the region in an intoxicated state. After examination, he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 1.36 per mille.

The perpetrator was taken to a temporary detention facility. A criminal case has been opened under Article 121 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional grievous bodily harm), which carries a sentence of up to 8 years in prison. The investigation is ongoing.
