Working pensioners have their pensions recalculated: what to expect?
The process of recalculating pensions for working pensioners has started in Ukraine from April 1. Approximately by June, pensioners who are having their pensions recalculated will receive increased payment amounts.
«Pensions are automatically recalculated from April 1 for pensioners who continued working after the pension appointment or previous recalculation and by March 1, 2024, had acquired 24 months of insurance experience, or those who worked less than 24 months but two years have passed since the pension appointment or previous recalculation,» the announcement states.
If the insurance experience is less than 24 months, the recalculation is carried out taking this experience into account. The pension may be calculated based on the earnings used to calculate the pension at the time of its appointment or previous recalculation, or may take into account the earnings received after that recalculation, if necessary.
«The average wage index (income) used for the appointment or previous recalculation of the pension remains unchanged,» experts add.
If by March 1, 2024, the experience is less than 24 months, the pension recalculation is carried out no earlier than two years after the appointment or previous recalculation, taking into account only the acquired experience. The salary used to calculate the pension remains unchanged.
