Ukrainian Border Guards Monitor Border Situation with Belarus Amid Military Readiness Checks
Amidst ongoing military readiness checks by the Belarusian armed forces, Ukrainian border guards have reported no significant changes along the border with Belarus. According to Andriy Demchenko, the spokesperson for Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service, there has been no increase in military personnel or movement of equipment near the border areas.
Despite regular military drills and readiness assessments conducted by Belarus, there has been no indication that Russia is relocating military units to this region that could potentially be deployed against Ukraine. Demchenko emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant, stating, «The situation at the border is stable, but we must be prepared for any possible changes. Our mission is to ensure the security of the border and adjacent territories.»
In the preceding days, sudden military readiness checks commenced in the Brest and Gomel regions, which share a border with Ukraine. Ukrainian border guards will continue to closely observe developments in response to these military activities.
As tensions persist in the region, these observations underscore the careful balancing act of security and preparedness by Ukrainian authorities amidst the evolving military landscape nearby.
