Reduction of Municipal Guard Staff in Odessa
Odessa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov has signed an order to reduce the staff of the municipal enterprise «Municipal Guard» from 450 to 350 units.
The decision was made on April 9th, as reported by the correspondent of «Dumskaya».
According to the Municipal Security Department, the reduction is necessary due to the full-scale war.
«Yes, we have started reducing the staff of the municipal guard by 100 positions. The reason is the large number of vacancies, as over three hundred employees have been mobilized, eight of them have already died,» said the department director Viktor Kuznetsov. «Given these circumstances, it makes no sense to keep the old number of vacancies, so we are reducing the staff to 350. Although there are still a number of vacancies left.»
According to one of the employees of the «Municipal Guard» who wished to remain anonymous, the problem lies in the fact that people are afraid to work in an institution where there is a possibility of mobilization.
«We officially document our employees and also submit lists to the Territorial Defense Headquarters. People are worried that when they join our ranks, they could be immediately called to the front. The same situation is in other municipal enterprises, for example, in «Odesa Electric Transport», which is facing a serious shortage of trolleybus and tram drivers,» he added.
