At the moment, there are 7 demining machines operating in the region. The number of such machines is planned to gradually increase, announced the head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) in Kharkiv region, Oleg Syniehubov.

«In March, testing of a new demining machine with an active drive began. International funds are eager to use Ukrainian equipment, our developments. It is much cheaper, and the quality is no worse than foreign analogues. We also implement all programs of the Ministry of Economy for compensating agricultural producers for the cost of demining services for agricultural land,» commented Oleg Syniehubov.

Enterprises in the region are actively involved not only in the development of demining machine models, but also in other mine protection systems, said the head of the SES in Kharkiv region, Artem Astakhov.

«At one of the enterprises in Kharkiv region, a system for protecting feet from anti-personnel mines has been developed. It has already received certification. Foreign manufacturers highly appreciated this anti-mine footwear, it will be very useful in work. Depending on the season and tasks set, up to 30 pyrotechnic groups of the SES are working in the territory of Kharkiv region. Approximately 4,500 hectares of land have already been surveyed, over 3,000 kilometers of power lines have been checked, and over 88,000 explosive objects have been destroyed,» Artem Astakhov reported.
