Ukrainian pensioners may see an increase in payments
Ukrainian pensioners may see an increase in payments thanks to the pension indexing and recalculation system, as well as the provision of special supplements.
Who is eligible for additional payments
Some pensioners may receive an age supplement. To be eligible, a person must meet the following criteria:
- receive a total pension payment of less than 10,340.35 hryvnias per month;
- be over 70 years old.
It is important to note that this supplement is automatically calculated and added to the regular pension amount each month once the pensioner reaches the specified age.
Current amounts of age supplements
The amount of the supplement depends on the pensioner’s age. Currently, they are:
- 300 hryvnias for pensioners aged 70 to 74;
- 456 hryvnias for pensioners aged 75 to 79;
- 570 hryvnias for pensioners aged 80 and older.
It is worth mentioning that these supplements do not add up, but increase with age. This means that a pensioner at the age of 78 receives 456 hryvnias, not 300 + 456 = 756 hryvnias.
