Kiev Authorities Delay Beach Season Opening
Kiev authorities have announced that the beach season will not start in the near future. City residents are advised to avoid visiting beaches due to safety concerns, as decided by the Permanent Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies of the Kyiv City State Administration.
«We advise citizens to stay away from beaches and recreational areas to prevent overcrowding, which could impede access to shelters in case of an air alarm,» stated the announcement.
Meanwhile, specialists will be conducting seasonal maintenance work to ensure order and compliance with sanitary standards at the beaches and recreational areas.
Former Friendship of Nations Arch Pose Dismantling Risks
Marina Solovyova, Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection at the Kyiv City State Administration, warned that dismantling the former Friendship of Nations Arch could be hazardous. Certain elements of the arch act as a supporting wall, thus preventing displacement.
