The Ministry of Finance Addresses Delay in Payment for Water Pipeline Construction
The Ministry of Finance has provided an update on the payments for the construction of a new water pipeline following the destruction of the Kakhovska HES in June 2023. As of April 24, documents for payment of the work have not been submitted to the State Treasury despite the approval of the budget program.
Funding Details of the Water Pipeline Project
The project, funded by the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression from the state budget, received 8.5 billion UAH, with 8.3 billion UAH utilized in 2023. The restoration agency paid 89% of the funds to contractors as an advance for the construction of main water pipelines in different regions.
Despite the completion of work as of January 1, 2024, the cost of the project was adjusted to 13.4 billion UAH, with additional funding allocated by the government in March 2024 to ensure the completion of the project by December 31, 2024.
