Measure of Restraint for the Accused

According to the State Bureau of Investigation press service, the Kirovsky District Court has determined for the accused a measure of restraint in the form of detention with the possibility of bail set at 3 million hryvnias for each.

The arrest occurred after Reznik and Artyunov were detained on April 9 for attempting to receive a bribe from an entrepreneur. He intended to repair an unfinished school to use it as a dormitory for displaced persons, but the officials demanded a bribe of $30,000 from him.

They are charged with extortion and corruption under Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a penalty of up to 12 years in prison with property confiscation.
