Insufficient pensions for Ukrainians with low salaries
Ukrainians who receive an official salary of 10,000 hryvnias may face insufficient pension in the future, according to calculations by the OBOZ.UA publication.
Many citizens of Ukraine, especially in small towns, have low salaries. This can lead to their incomes being insufficient for a decent living in retirement. For example, if a Ukrainian receives an official salary of 10,000 hryvnias, they can expect pension payments of 2,818 hryvnias if they have a full insurance period of 35 years.
It is important to note that Ukrainians can voluntarily join the mandatory state social insurance system, which allows them to contribute to the Pension Fund and influence the size of future pension payments. Additionally, if possible, it is recommended to save a portion of income for the future to have financial protection in retirement.
