Charges of Fraud Brought Against Resident of Kyiv

Under the leadership of the Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a resident of Kyiv has been charged with fraud (part 2 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

During the pre-trial investigation, it was found that a native of Ladanska village in Pryluky district of Chernihiv region, from February to December 2023, deceived and misappropriated funds from the State Budget of Ukraine under the pretext of receiving a microgrant to start his own business in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated June 21, 2022, No. 738.

The said individual submitted a business plan to open a store-service center in Pryluky, Chernihiv region. By falsifying documents to obtain a microgrant, the man unlawfully obtained and disposed of funds totaling 250,000 hryvnias, causing damage to the state.

During a search at the man’s place of residence in Kyiv, law enforcement officers seized computer equipment and documentation.

The sanction of part 2 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 3 years.
