Criminal Group Members Convicted for Drug Trafficking in Kropyvnytskyi

In a significant legal development, three members of an organized criminal group in Kropyvnytskyi have been found guilty of illicit activities related to drug trafficking, specifically the illegal purchase, storage, and transfer of narcotics to prison facilities.

According to the regional prosecutor’s office, the leader of the group has been sentenced to 11 years in prison, along with asset confiscation, while his accomplice and the operator of the scheme each received sentences of 10 years, also accompanied by asset forfeiture, as handed down by the Kirovohrad District Court.

The court proceedings revealed compelling evidence that the convicted individuals, who were incarcerated at Correctional Facility No. 6 in Kropyvnytskyi, played integral roles in the distribution of illegal substances, including cannabis and methadone, throughout the year.

This case underscores the ongoing challenges of drug trafficking within correctional institutions and the determination of law enforcement agencies to combat such illegal operations.
