Exposure of Criminal Schemes at Service Centers
The Department of Internal Security of the National Police of Ukraine has reported the exposure of a criminal scheme at one of the service centers in Odessa. A 44-year-old entrepreneur artificially created queues by taking tokens from the electronic queue, and then offered visitors expedited services for a fee of 5,000 hryvnias.
The management of the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs assisted in exposing the criminal scheme. The suspect was charged with abuse of influence, which could lead to up to eight years of imprisonment.
Similar Scheme Uncovered in Mykolaiv
A similar scheme was also uncovered in Mykolaiv. A 24-year-old man offered services for expedited processing of military service deferment for money. After receiving payment, he was supposed to influence officials at the territorial recruitment center.
The man was arrested and charged with abuse of influence. The organizer of the scheme was arrested with the possibility of posting bail, while his assistant will be tried under the relevant article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
