Artem Dovbyk Sidelined with Knee Injury
On Saturday, February 3, «Girona» faced «Real Sociedad» in the 23rd round of the Spanish football championship. Unfortunately, the match ended in a goalless draw with a score of 0-0, and Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk was notably absent from the squad.
Reportedly, Dovbyk experienced knee problems and there are suspicions of a meniscus injury sustained during training the day before the game. If medical examinations confirm the diagnosis, Dovbyk may have to sit out for the remainder of the season.
In a statement to Tribuna, Dovbyk acknowledged the meniscus issues but remains hopeful for a speedy recovery. While recovery from a meniscus tear typically takes about a month, rumors of a prolonged absence may be exaggerated.
Sports doctor Dmitry Babeleyuk chimed in on the situation, mentioning that a return to the field after a meniscus tear is feasible within a month, although there is a possibility of a longer recovery period.
