In Transcarpathia, a solemn presentation of the Order «For Courage» III degree to the family of border guard Yuri Zavadyak, who died in the war, took place. The Order was presented by the chief of the Mukachevo border detachment, Colonel Bohdan Ihnatiuk, to the sister and niece of the fallen warrior.

For personal courage in defense of the state’s sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath, Yuri Zavadyak was posthumously awarded the Order «For Courage» III degree by President Volodymyr Zelensky. Zavadyak was killed on August 28, 2023, as a result of artillery shelling. He was buried in his native village of Imstychove.
