German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius Supports Ukrainian Use of Weapons on Aggressor’s Territory
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, during a briefing in Odesa with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, announced that the use of German weapons by Ukraine on the territory of an aggressor country will be considered within the boundaries of international law.
Pistorius revealed that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz had previously mentioned the possibility of Ukrainian use of German weapons «within the framework of international law», in response to inquiries regarding permission for such actions on Russian territory.
The Minister stressed the importance of abiding by bilateral agreements and avoiding discussions that cross «red lines», although he acknowledged that this matter will be thoroughly reviewed.
Notably, a total of thirteen countries have already granted official permission for Ukraine to utilize Western weapons on the enemy’s territory, including Finland, France, Lithuania, Latvia, Sweden, Estonia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Canada, Denmark, and Norway.
