Apple Announces Sale of Vision Pro Augmented Reality Glasses

Apple has announced the start of sales of the Vision Pro augmented reality glasses. Pre-orders in the US will be available starting on January 19, with full sales beginning on February 2. Contrary to rumors, the company does not plan to postpone the start date.

Price and Features

The price of the device remains the same — the new device is priced at $3499 for the 256 gigabyte version. Additionally, other configurations with larger memory capacities will be available, as specified in the press release.

In addition to the Vision Pro glasses themselves, Apple will also offer Zeiss optical lenses for $99. Prescription lenses for people with vision problems will also be available for $149.

The package includes interchangeable straps for customization to individual preferences, special sealing cushions, case, branded cloth for cleaning screens, battery, cable, and USB-C power adapter.

Revolutionary Technology

Apple describes Vision Pro as a «revolutionary spatial computer that changes everything.» The device was developed by the company for more than 7 years and is the first product that Steve Jobs did not work on.

The glasses can be used for watching movies, communication, work, and games. According to the company’s statement, on the release day, users will be able to choose from «hundreds» of available games.
