Ukrainian citizens holding academic titles now have the right to voluntarily renounce them. To do this, it is necessary to submit an application in any form with a notarized signature to the Ministry of Education and Science.

The relevant document notes that the application can be submitted electronically using a qualified electronic signature. The decision to make changes to certain resolutions on the training and certification of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Cancellation of the decision to award an academic title must be made within ten working days from the date of receipt of the application to the Ministry of Education.
«Within ten working days after receiving the application to the Ministry of Education, the decision to award the academic title will be canceled, and the certificate will be declared invalid. An order to this effect will be issued and posted on the official website of the Ministry of Education. The decision to award the academic title to an individual will be revoked, and the certificate will be declared invalid if the individual voluntarily renounces the academic degree,» the document says.
It should be reminded that starting from 2024, admission to graduate school will be based on competitive examinations.
Applicants are required to provide the results of the Unified Entrance Exam, which includes testing of general educational competence and knowledge of a foreign language of the applicant’s choice. The language options for the exam include English, French, German, and Spanish.
