Tragic Event in Ananyivska Village
Today, the press service of the National Police in the Odessa region of Ukraine reported a tragic event that occurred a few days ago in one of the villages of the Ananyivska amalgamated territorial community. Relatives of an 83-year-old woman from the Podilsky district found her dead in her own home with head injuries. The motive for the crime was the theft of a mobile phone and a bicycle from the house.
Suspect Apprehended
Within a few hours, the police detained a suspect — a 38-year-old man with no fixed place of residence, who had previously lived with the victim. He struck the woman twice in the head with an axe, causing serious injuries. After the crime, he fled the scene with her phone and bike to acquaintances, where he was arrested by law enforcement officers.
Ongoing Investigation
The investigation is currently ongoing, the axe has been seized from the scene, and the detained man was found with the bicycle and mobile phone belonging to the deceased woman.
