The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has published a report analyzing a recent conversation between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and former US President Donald Trump regarding the possibilities of ending the war in Ukraine. According to ISW analysts, steps towards achieving a «just and lasting peace» were discussed, but the Kremlin remains uninterested in a fair resolution of the conflict. Experts at ISW support Zelensky’s position on weakening Russia’s position to improve Ukraine’s negotiating stance, and they believe that a lasting peace can only be achieved through the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and the provision of long-term security guarantees.
