Recently appointed Defense Minister of Great Britain John Hiley has expressed unwavering support for the Kingdom of Ukraine on its path to victory. This was announced during a joint briefing with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umiev in the city of Odesa, according to Ukrinform.

«Great Britain will continue to support Ukraine regardless of changes in leadership. We will increase our assistance to Ukraine. Today, I can announce further supplies and their acceleration for your fight against the aggressor. We stand with you and are working to secure your future,»

Hiley stated. According to him, Great Britain is ready to provide assistance to the extent necessary for Ukraine’s victory.

«Together, we are building a secure environment in Europe. Your success is our success, your security is our security,»

emphasized the minister. In turn, Rustem Umiev emphasized the importance of the visit of the new Defense Minister of Great Britain to Ukraine ahead of the NATO summit in Washington.

«We express our gratitude to our British partners for supporting our efforts to become full-fledged members of the alliance. Particularly important is the aid package for the current year, which includes modern drones. We are also grateful for the training of our military personnel, including pilots and engineers,»

he added. Earlier this month, the UK held snap parliamentary elections, which were won by the Labour Party. The defeat of the Conservative Party was acknowledged by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The new Prime Minister of the country became the leader of the Labour Party, Keir Starmer.
