Ruslan Stepanuk Poised for New Season with Veres

Professional footballer Ruslan Stepanuk is eagerly anticipating the start of the new season with the Veres football club. In a recent interview, he expressed his enthusiasm about returning home, sharing how both he and his family are «very happy to be back.» Stepanuk regards Rivne as his hometown, emphasizing a deep connection as his family has now settled there. He noted that adapting to the team has been seamless due to his familiarity with many of the players and coaches. «I have previously played with Bohdan Kohut and Valeriy Kucherov at Veres. I have always followed the club’s successes,» he stated.

Stepanuk also praised the club’s ongoing development, particularly highlighting the transformation of the stadium. «When I played for Veres in the First League, our stadium was practically in ruins. Now, it is a modern arena that, while still requiring some improvements, impresses with its quality. The club has its own training base with excellent fields, which speaks volumes about the club’s progress,» he elaborated.

The forward emphasized that his primary objective is to aid Veres in its development and foster young talent within the team. «I prefer to let my actions on the field speak for themselves rather than talk too much. I believe that the upcoming season will be more successful for us than the last,» he added confidently.

Stepanuk made his return to Veres this summer after a successful tenure with the club, during which he played 68 matches and remains the record-holder with 25 goals scored during the 2016-2017 season—the highest since Ukraine gained independence. As the team gears up for the season ahead, Stepanuk’s experience and dedication signal an exciting chapter for both him and Veres.
