French Air Force to Train Ukrainian Pilots

French Air Force has taken on the commitment to train 26 Ukrainian pilots within two years, as reported by the French magazine Le Monde.

According to the Air Force, there are currently only ten pilots in Ukraine. Among them, there are those who have never flown before and those who have experience working on the Czech-made training aircraft L-39 Albatros. The age of Ukrainian pilots ranges from 21 to 23 years, and before going for training, they underwent English language courses in the USA.

The intensive training program includes 80 hours of flight time and 50 hours on simulators with instructors. The duration of training has been shortened to 6 months, which is a significant acceleration compared to the standard 18-month course.

At the moment, the air base does not have F-16 fighter jets, which are supposed to be the culmination of the training for Ukrainian pilots. After completing the course, Ukrainian pilots will be sent to a training center in Romania.
