Police uncover criminal scheme in Rivne region
Authorities in the Rivne region have uncovered a criminal scheme in which individuals were promised documents declaring them unfit for military service in exchange for money.
The scheme, which involved two residents of the city of Dubno, aged 46 and 38, was uncovered by a joint investigation by the National Police of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Rivne regional prosecutor’s office.
The suspects had reportedly convinced individuals to pay them in order to influence the medical commission and obtain a certificate of unfitness for military service. The scheme involved issuing fake examination and treatment results in exchange for a reward of 7,000 US dollars.
The criminals were apprehended while in the act of receiving another batch of money.
