A Tribute to Heroes: Memorial Plaque and Stele Unveiled
A memorial plaque and stele were installed at the Ternopil Vocational Education Center to commemorate nine graduates who gave their lives in the Russian-Ukrainian war. The opening and blessing ceremony of the memorials took place with the participation of Mayor Serhiy Nadal, clergy, teachers, students of the school, relatives, and friends of the fallen soldiers.
«It is symbolic that we are unveiling the memorial stele and plaque on Heroes’ Day to honor those who gave their lives for Ukraine’s independence,» said Mayor Serhiy Nadal. «I want to express my gratitude to the parents, families, and school leadership for raising true patriots. Their memory will remain in our hearts and in the history of the city and the country. Their heroism and dedication will be an example for future generations.»
The memorial plaque was installed in honor of one of the defenders, Andriy Terebiy, who was killed on April 4, 2022, in battles for the city of Rubizhne in the Luhansk region. He posthumously received the title of «Honorary Citizen of Ternopil» for his significant contributions to the establishment of Ukrainian statehood and bravery in defending its territorial integrity.
The memorials were also installed in honor of other school graduates who died in the war, to remind of their courage and self-sacrifice for future generations. May they always be a shining example of bravery and patriotism.
