A grand book festival Bookfest-2024
Organized by the Central City Library System for Children of Odessa, took place at the City Garden in Odessa. The festival was dedicated to World Book and Copyright Day and became a real celebration for literature lovers.
The event
Was free to enter, and all activities were free of charge, allowing everyone interested to dive into the world of books. The celebration started with a concert program featuring music schools and artistic groups from the city, including the Yuriy Olesha Young Audience Theater.
The festival program
Included book exhibitions covering both classic literature and the latest works by contemporary authors. Participants also enjoyed workshops on artistic ceramics, making holiday cards, felt birds, beaded bracelets, origami, as well as a show by the School of Scientific Wonders «Fascinating Science».
A meeting
With Odessa writers and local historians such as Dmytro Zhdanov, Inna Ishchuk, Oleksiy Nademlynskyi, and Olena Karachevska was organized specially for the event. They read excerpts from books, engaging the audience with insightful passages and interesting facts.
A special focus
Was on the photo exhibition «Book in the Frame», where photographers Alexander Synelnykov, Yevheniy Volokin, Olena Ksenofontova, and Ihor Sitnyk showcased vibrant works that transported visitors to the fantastic world of literature.
For children
Fairytale photo zones were prepared, where reality turned into a magical world of fairy tales and fantasies for a while. Bookfest-2024 gave Odessa residents and city guests unforgettable impressions and once again confirmed the importance of promoting reading.
