The High Anti-Corruption Court has chosen a preventive measure for a public official from the tax service of the Kharkiv region, who was previously detained for receiving a bribe in the amount of 55,000 US dollars. The High Anti-Corruption Court partially granted the motion of the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
Court applies a measure of restraint with an alternative of bail
The court applied a measure of restraint to the suspect in the form of detention with the alternative of bail. The woman will be able to be released on bail in the amount of 7 million hryvnias.
Official suspected of inciting another official to accept a bribe
The official is suspected of inciting another official to accept a bribe and extorting undue advantage for herself. According to the SAP, the woman was arrested while receiving 55,000 dollars, which she allegedly took for the head of the tax office. However, the official demanded a much larger sum for herself – 150,000 dollars. Her actions are classified under Art. 368, part 4 and Art. 27, part 4, Art. 15, part 2, and Art. 369, part 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
