Teenager Arrested on Suspicion of Murder
Regional division of the National Police reported that a teenager had been searched for four days and was found yesterday near the railway tracks. A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder, as he had met the girl shortly before her death.
«It has been preliminarily established that the perpetrator inflicted injuries on the victim in an abandoned building of a former weighing complex that were incompatible with life. The final cause of death will be determined after a forensic examination,» the police said.
Law enforcement officers added that in order to hide the crime, the young man attempted to bury the victim’s body under garbage.
Evidence Seized and DNA Analysis Confirms Suspect’s Involvement
Material evidence was seized from the scene, which will be sent for examination. In addition, criminalists of the investigative department of the National Police in the Odessa region used a mobile DNA laboratory to promptly analyze biological traces collected during the initial investigative actions, as well as biological samples of the victim and the suspect. The results of the examination confirmed the boy’s involvement in the crime.
